Afsheen Nasir - Profile

I am primarily a self-taught artist, although I have been informally instructed by the famous Pakistani artist, Iqbal Mehdi. I had been painting for many years but family commitments stopped me from fully exploring my passion.
However, a few years ago, I found a way round this by combining both my passions, art and my children - my paintings are primarily inspired by either days out or family time at home. I have found that when I paint an experience I have had with my children, it becomes an extension of the memory, be it something simple like a day out in the park, strawberry picking at the local farm or a holiday in Venice! This makes my paintings an extension of my experience shared with everyone rather than an activity carried out in isolation.
